Points/Reputation System Empty Points/Reputation System

Post by YoFool Mon Apr 25, 2011 7:39 pm

Hey everybody. On Audible Fools, we have what is called a point system and a reputation system. You'll notice these two fields bellow a users avatar on any of their posts and on their profile.

Point System: For ever reply you make to a post, you get 1 point. Seems fair enough, doesn't it? Also, for every topic you start, you'll get 3 points.

Reputation System: You'll notice that with any post, there are two buttons: a + and a - . Generally you click these buttons depending on if what a person posted was useful or not. If your + is clicked, you will receive one reputation point. If your - is clicked, you will lose a reputation point. Also, you'll notice a "Thanks" button sometimes too. The way the "Thanks" button works is if YOU post a topic, not anybody else but YOU, then you can click other people's "Thanks" button who respond to your topic. For example, if you started a new topic and asked, "Which is better, cheese or windows?", then the people who reply will have a "Thanks" button on their post. If their reply was exactly what you were looking for, it's always nice to click this button. It will give the person 3 reputation points. If their reply was helpful but maybe not exactly what you were looking for, you should click the + button. If their reply was totally irrelevant, you should click the - button. This way, it will encourage good posts and discourage pointless and stupid posts.

So yeah that's it for the Point and Reputation system. Please note that you cannot click your own + or - buttons nor your own "Thanks" button.
